Keegan’s Workshop has been custom designing, crafting and building various projects since the late 1990’s.  Shaun Keegan, the brain, brawn, and builder behind the Workshop name has always had an interest in constructing things since he was just a boy; whether it was models, school projects, Legos, or birdhouses.

After a couple years of college, Shaun spread his wings and got hooked up with Design By Flare, a Colorado based company who did set designs for musical acts like Leftover Salmon, Strangefolk, moe., and festivals like the Gathering of the Vibes. Shaun worked hand-in-hand with DBF’s lead designer, Lissa Smith, and constructed most of the sub-structures used in the props used on stage. While this design adventure only lasted a few years, it was an eye opening experience and taught Shaun to think out of the box when it came to getting creative.

In 2001, Shaun entered the world of residential construction in the Pittsfield, MA area, building homes, doing renovations and decks. In 2005, he changed gears and relocated to the Lowell, MA area and started working for a commercial general contractor. After eleven years of building day cares, dental offices, car washes, and doing renovations at banks, hospitals and strip malls, Shaun took an in-house carpentry position at a local hospital.

All through these years of gaining knowledge and experience, Shaun never stopped tinkering around trying his had at new projects. Whether it was a side job build a dog house, an Adirondack chair, a shed, or just a license plate birdhouse, the urge to design and build has never faded but rather continually blossomed and grown.

The desire to build, construct, design, and craft is one that is imbedded in Shaun’s soul. He strives for quality, both on the visual and structural aspect of things. He loves what he does, which is why he takes pride in his work, which is direct result in the final outcome of a project. Shaun doesn’t believe in taking shortcuts to get things done faster, or to make things easier. He loves the challenge and putting in his all to ensure that whatever he does is done correctly and wholehearted, even if it means taking a little longer to get done.
